Behind The Curtain A Man, A Monster & The Sea

On November 18, 2024, The Mogus, alongside artist Mulyana and moderator Agra Locita, hosted an inspiring event titled Behind The Curtain at Ciputra University, Surabaya. This event served as part of the pre-event series leading up to Mulyana’s solo exhibition A Man, A Monster, and The Sea, which will take place at Orasis Art Space from November 23, 2024, to January 26, 2025.

During the event, Mulyana shared stories behind his creative process, his journey in crafting the iconic character Mogus, and the profound philosophy underpinning his modular crochet works. Together with Agra Locita, the discussion delved into artistic collaboration and the challenges of bringing evocative art narratives to life.

Students and audiences at Ciputra University gained fresh perspectives on how art can serve not only as a medium of expression but also as a tool for dialogue about identity, sustainability, and humanity’s relationship with nature. The event also highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in creating greater impact in the art world.
